Kevin Stefanski Hands Over Browns Play-Calling Duties to Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey: A New Era for Cleveland’s Offense In a significant shift for the Cleveland Browns, head coach Kevin Stefanski has decided to relinquish his play-calling responsibilities, passing them on to recently hired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. This move marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the Browns’ offense, signaling Stefanski’s willingness to adapt in hopes of igniting the team's underwhelming performance on that side of the ball. The Decision to Step Back Since taking over as head coach in 2020, Stefanski has called offensive plays for the Browns. Under his leadership, Cleveland’s offense initially flourished, particularly during the 2020 season when the team made a rare playoff appearance, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round. Stefanski's offensive schemes, emphasizing a run-heavy attack and play-action passes, played a key role in maximizing the talents of qu...

Five ways that Mayweather vs. Ortiz could end in an upset

Image
The consensus opinion for the Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz fight is that Mayweather is going to win the day because he's simply too skilled and too experienced to let Ortiz defeat him. However, an Ortiz victory isn't impossible. In fact, there are many ways that Ortiz could potentially end up as the winner. Here are five possible factors that could lead to an upset outcome in the Mayweather vs. Ortiz bout. 1. Mayweather is Rusty, or Old : Mayweather is 34, a decade older than his opponent, and he has been resting on his laurels for quite some time. There is a strong possibility that he either comes into the ring a bit rusty or that his reflexes and speed have dimmed a bit. In either case, the young, hungry Ortiz could pounce and either hurt Mayweather or control the bout with aggression and work rate 2. Mayweather is Distracted : Mayweather has had a lot on his mind over the past year. There are lawsuits. There are criminal charges and upcoming court dates. There are o...

Rosh Hashanah seders are growing in popularity

Image
The Rosh Hashanah seder is one of the holiday’s oldest food traditions — and now it’s one of the newest trends in celebrating the Jewish New Year. Eating symbolic foods the first night of Rosh Hashanah dates back to Rabbi Abaye’s instructions in the Talmud to eat five foods that were typical of the season. These foods had names or qualities that represent wishes for health, prosperity and a good year. So while you might not have heard of a Rosh Hashanah seder, some sources say it has existed for about 2,000 years. Sephardic and Mizrachi Jews have a long history of serving and blessing not just the Talmud’s suggestions, but a host of foods whose name or appearance helps celebrate Rosh Hashanah, which this year begins the evening of Sept. 28.Ashkenazi Jews have long served symbolic foods — such as apples and honey and honey cake (for a sweet year), round loaves of challah (symbolic of the crown and the circular nature of time) and often a dish containing carrots (cut into discs, they...

India: Orissa State: demolition order for churches is revoked

Image
Cuttack-Bhubaneswar – No church building in Kandhamal (Orissa) will be demolished. District collector Rajesh Prabhakar Patil in person reassured those present at a meeting with a delegation of Christians. However for the Catholic archbishop of the diocese of Cuttack-Bhubaneswar (Cuttack-Bhubaneswar is Orissa state capital), “ verbal guarantees on the part of the district collector have not stopped local officials who continue to torment our people”. In the month of August, on the occasion of anti-Christian pogroms in Kandhamal, the state government issued demolition orders for five church buildings. The orders were made on the basis of a ruling that the churches were built (in 1942) on state owned land and without permission. "Sadly- the Catholic Archbishop remarks - the Constitutional guarantees do not apply in our Kandhamal district, there is scant reverence for public places of Christian worship. And while we forgive our aggressors and pray for those who have victimised our ...

Six Actresses Not in Search of TV Work

Image
IN her dressing room, so newly occupied that the only visible decoration was a bag of Reese’s Pieces, Kat Dennings was pointing out the couch where she’d had a minor meltdown here on the Warner Brothers lot the night before. That evening she was preparing to face a studio audience and film her second episode of “2 Broke Girls,” a CBS comedy that will make its debut on Monday, and she freely admitted she didn’t handle the pressure well. “I was talking on the phone to my mother,” said Ms. Dennings, 25, a spirited, self-deprecating actress whose film credits include “The 40-Year-Old Virgin,” “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” and “Thor.” “I was like: ‘Mom, there’s no air. I’m going to throw up. What do I do?’ She’s like: ‘Go out there, you’ll be great. Go get some water. Eat a piece of fruit.’ ” Ms. Dennings said she was revitalized once she took the stage, but she might want to keep her mother on speed dial anyway. This season she is among a handful of actresses in their 20s an...

Is apple juice safe to drink?

Image
EUGENE, Ore. - A popular juice is getting a bad wrap after TV show host Dr. Oz investigated different apple juice brands and found what he calls "high" levels of arsenic in the beverage. Dr. Oz hired an independent lab to test five different well known brands of apple juice for the hazardous substance. The apple juices that were tested include Minute Maid, Juicy Juice, Gerber, Apple and Eve, and Mott's. At least one sample for four of the five brands, with the exception of Minute Maid, showed levels of arsenic. The highest level measured in the investigation was found in Gerber apple juice at 36 ppb. The apple juice controversy caught the attention of many of Dr. Oz's fans who poured their thoughts onto his Facebook page. Many of his viewers thanked him for looking out for their health. On Thursday Dr. Richard Besser, an ABC medical expert, confronted Dr. Oz about his statements on a network morning show. The doctor argued that Oz failed to distinguish the diffe...
