Kevin Stefanski gives up Browns play-calling duties

Kevin Stefanski Hands Over Browns Play-Calling Duties to Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey: A New Era for Cleveland’s Offense In a significant shift for the Cleveland Browns, head coach Kevin Stefanski has decided to relinquish his play-calling responsibilities, passing them on to recently hired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. This move marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the Browns’ offense, signaling Stefanski’s willingness to adapt in hopes of igniting the team's underwhelming performance on that side of the ball. The Decision to Step Back Since taking over as head coach in 2020, Stefanski has called offensive plays for the Browns. Under his leadership, Cleveland’s offense initially flourished, particularly during the 2020 season when the team made a rare playoff appearance, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round. Stefanski's offensive schemes, emphasizing a run-heavy attack and play-action passes, played a key role in maximizing the talents of qu...

James Bond Daniel Craig marries Rachel Weisz; 'Green Lantern' sequel in the works; and more

Image
Current James Bond Daniel Craig and "The Mummy" heroine Rachel Weisz wed in a small ceremony Wednesday in New York, reps for the English actors have confirmed to the Daily Mail and People. Just four guests attended the ceremony — Craig's daughter, Ella, 18; Weisz's son, Henry, 4, whose father is director Darren Aronofsky ; and two friends as witnesses. Relationship rumors began last year, after Craig, 43, and Weisz, 41, filmed the thriller "Dream House" in early 2010. They denied the claims then and later in late 2010, when Weisz and Aronofsky announced their breakup in November after nine years together. Craig stars in the summer action film "Cowboys & Aliens," opening July 29. Weisz can be seen next in the drama "The Whistleblower," opening in August. "Dream House," in which the two play a married couple, will be in theaters Sept. 30. • Despite bad reviews and disappointing box office, " The Green Lantern ...

LaBelle was the recipient of this year's BET Lifetime Achievement Award at the event, which was broadcast live from the Shrine Auditorium. After an introduction, which included tributes from Beyoncé and Gladys Knight, Cee Lo launched into a rendition of LaBelle's 'Somebody Loves You'. He brought a can of hairspray on stage with him and stopped to spray his spiky black wig on occasion. Shirley Ceaser and Marsha Ambrosius also performed musical tributes to LaBelle. Ceaser sang 'You Are My Friend', while Ambrosius took on 'If Only You Knew'. LaBelle also performed, treating the audience to her tracks 'Love, Need and Want You' and 'Lady Marmalade'. Creating own social media presence that works for your firm

Image
Create a social media presence that highlights your expertise,” I once told a room full of entrepreneurs. “And that will do more to drive business to your site than anything else you can afford during your start-up phase.” Then an audience member asked a familiar question that I have come to dread. I talk to a lot of business audiences about how they can use social media to build their reputation, and there’s always someone who wonders if that strategy is really viable within his market, field or budget. “How could this work for me?” asked a man who runs a small chain of language schools and is seeking to increase the demand for his after-school classes for kids. “What’s the best way to get more customers for my schools?” Businesspeople around the world can create top online portals in their markets, too, if they can find a unique way to speak directly to customers. Here are five ways to do it: Use vocabulary that speaks to the market. Usually I advise people to avoid jar...

Microsoft: a danger for Skype users?

Image
SEATTLE - Long before the iPhone, the Sidekick was the cool mobile phone. It was to the iPhone and Android what Paris Hilton is to Kim Kardashian - version 1.0. Danger, the Silicon Valley company that made the Sidekick, had created an entirely new kind of phone, one that could surf the Web, instant message friends and attract the Us Weekly crowd. When Microsoft bought Danger for $500 million in 2008, many hoped the merger would put rocket boosters on the Sidekick. Instead, joining Microsoft turned out to be a pin prick that sent Danger whizzing around the room like a balloon losing air. On May 31, T-Mobile USA, which sold the Sidekick, and Microsoft ended the Danger wireless service. The Sidekick brand name will live on with other T-Mobile phones, but without the guts and unique device that won over believers in Danger’s earlier days. Danger’s fate casts a long shadow today as Microsoft prepares to consummate its $8 billion purchase of the new hotness, Skype, a Luxembou...

USA Teaching 8-Year-Olds How to Be Hackers

Image
Reuters reports that the first-ever Defcon Kids conference will take place this August in Las Vegas, and will teach children ranging from ages eight to sixteen the basics of computer hacking, and how to protect themselves against cyber attacks. It will also serve as a recruiting farm for U.S. federal agents looking for the next-generation of "digital crime fighters." As the name implies, Defon Kids is a spinoff of the Defcon hacker convention which also takes place in Las Vegas every summer. This year's Defcon 19 will take place on August 4 - 7; Defcon Kids will only last for two days, August 6 – 7. This new kids version will reportedly focus on hacking as a "white hat," or rather, a hacker that uses their skills for good rather than the "black hats" who apply their knowledge for stealing money, stealing identities and so on (AKA "evil"). "Hacking isn't just fun and games," said a 16-year-old 'FS' who will...

Demystifying cloud computing for consumers

Image
Apple and Google are each rolling the dice on competing visions of cloud-based media, placing high-stakes bets on digital delivery of entertainment at a time when confusion runs high for such services. The problem is, most of the people they want to market those services to only have a vague notion of what "the cloud" means. "It's not just consumers and lay people who struggle with the cloud, it's experienced IT people who struggle with it," says Gartner analyst David Smith. "The whole idea from a consumer perspective is … it's supposed to be a magical cloud in the sky." There's a huge digital disconnect. Only 40% of Americans understand such cloud services as Google Docs for documents, according to a report from market researcher Ipsos OTX MediaCT. Even fewer — 9% — actually use such services, according to the survey of 1,000 U.S. respondents. Stakes are high for technology companies to define the consumer cloud. The winner gets t...
