CMA Gives Shirts Off Backs, Schools Audiences for Sunday's TV Special

GILDAN ACTIVEWEAR PROVIDES 7,000 "KEEP THE MUSIC PLAYING" T-SHIRTS FOR NASHVILLE MAYOR'S FIRST DAY EVENT NASHVILLE - Gildan Activewear, the official T-shirt of CMA Music Festival, supplied 7,000 "Keep the Music Playing" tees for Nashville Mayor Karl Dean's First Day on Sunday at the Bridgestone Arena. The event provides free school supplies for Metro Nashville Public School students. Gildan Activewear made use of CMA Music Festival to break the Guinness World Record for Largest T-shirt. Unveiled at Centennial Park, the tee measured 180.9 feet by 281.3 feet (nearly the size of a football field), weighed two tons, and took six weeks to make. In recognition of the feat, an equivalent amount of fabric was used to create 12,000 T-shirts - 7,000 were donated to the Mayor's First Day event and another 5,000 will be distributed to Metro music students through Keep the Music Playing.
