Kevin Stefanski gives up Browns play-calling duties

Image
Kevin Stefanski Hands Over Browns Play-Calling Duties to Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey: A New Era for Cleveland’s Offense In a significant shift for the Cleveland Browns, head coach Kevin Stefanski has decided to relinquish his play-calling responsibilities, passing them on to recently hired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. This move marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the Browns’ offense, signaling Stefanski’s willingness to adapt in hopes of igniting the team's underwhelming performance on that side of the ball. The Decision to Step Back Since taking over as head coach in 2020, Stefanski has called offensive plays for the Browns. Under his leadership, Cleveland’s offense initially flourished, particularly during the 2020 season when the team made a rare playoff appearance, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round. Stefanski's offensive schemes, emphasizing a run-heavy attack and play-action passes, played a key role in maximizing the talents of qu...

Serial Killings of Women Near Gilgo Beach:Suspect Arrested.

Image
Rex Heuermann, a 59-year-old architect who lives in Nassau County, was charged with killing three women and is the “prime suspect” in the death of a fourth woman. The bodies were unearthed near remote Gilgo Beach on Long Island’s South Shore more than a decade ago, terrifying residents and leaving the victims’ families bereft. In all, the remains of nine women, a man and a toddler were discovered. Since then, investigators have tried to determine whether the killings had been committed by one person or by multiple attackers. But for more than a decade the cases went unsolved. Then Rex Heuermann, an architect who had lived most of his life in Nassau County and worked in Manhattan, was taken into custody on Thursday, accused of killing three women and is suspected in the murder of a fourth. Before his arrest, investigators had sifted through clues as simple as a monogrammed belt wrapped around one of the victims and as sophisticated as the electronic signals of disposable mobile phones.Th...

France celebrates Bastille Day with pomp, a recognition for India and additional police to forestall new distress

Image
PARIS — France celebrated its national holiday Friday with whizzing warplanes and a grand Bastille Day parade in Paris — and with more than 100,000 police deployed around the country to prevent a new outbreak of unrest in underprivileged neighborhoods. This year, the celebrations marking the start of the French Revolution on July 14, 1789 come in the wake of the nation’s most serious rioting in nearly 20 years, following the fatal police shooting of a teenager with North African roots that laid bare anger over entrenched inequality and racial discrimination. How One of Red's Famous Monologues Foreshadowed His Death

Image
At the end of the final episode of the two-part series finale event, "Raymond Reddington: Good Night" (Season 10, Episode 22), Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader) was killed in a surprising accident. Following years of his shenanigans, speeches, and introduction of countless Blacklisters, fans had to bid farewell in heartbreaking fashion. Below, NBC Insider breaks down the fateful moment, and why our favorite anti-hero met his end in such a specific way. How did Red die on The Blacklist'? While on a walk in the Spanish countryside, Reddington was trampled by a bull and killed. n the moments that led up to the fatal interaction, Red and the animal had a standoff, staring at one another before the bull began to charge at him. While fans didn't see the moment of impact, in the next scene Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff) — who tracked Red down and zeroed in on him in Spain – spots Red's body from a helicopter and finds him crumpled, bloodied, and unresponsive...

CPI Inflation Figures Are High, But Fed Still Likely To Raise Interest Rates

Image
T he consumer price index increased at a 0.2% monthly rate for June. The increase was the same for both the headline rate, and for core inflation, which excludes food and energy. That’s the smallest monthly increase since August 2021, and headline inflation rose at 3%. However, the Federal Reserve is still likely to argue core inflation rising at a 4.8% annual rate is well above its 2% inflation goal and raise interest rates in July as a result. Shelter Costs Coming Down Perhaps the most encouraging aspect of the June CPI report was shelter costs rising at a lower rate (0.4%) than in many prior months. That’s still high but it shows that shelter costs in the CPI may be starting to mirror the cooling home prices that we’ve seen in industry data. The lag is not unexpected because the CPI uses a panel approach to measure housing costs that introduces a lag to current pricing, of six months or so. Still, shelter costs will likely need to come down further for the Fed to be sat...

In Milan Kundera’s Work, the Erotic Meets the Subversive

Image
It’s hard to overstate how central Milan Kundera was, in the mid-1980s, to literary culture in America and elsewhere. He was the best-known Czech writer since Kafka, and his fiction brought news of sophisticated Eastern European societies trembling under the threat of Soviet repression. Reviews of his erotic, heavy-hearted and metaphysical novels commanded the front pages of books sections, as did his occasional interviews. His work cast a spell, and few did not submit. In every college town, people were buying, reading and crushing on Kundera. His status has fallen somewhat. In retrospect, the moment feels slightly like a mass delusion, if an agreeable and largely worthwhile one. Surveys of his suggestive, forsaken and mystical books instructed the front pages of books areas, as did his periodic meetings. His work cast a spell, and few didn't submit. In each school town, individuals were purchasing, perusing and pounding on Kundera. His status has fallen fairly. Everything consi...

Get free food or deals at McDonald's, Burger King and Wendy's:National French Fry Day 2023

Image
National French Fry Day is upon us. And this fictitious food holiday is so special, you can celebrate it over two days – or more. For years, National French Fry Day was observed on July 13. But last year, fast-food chains Checkers & Rally's gathered online petition signatures asking the arbiter of "fun, unusual, and unique" national days, the National Day Calendar, to move National French Fry Day to the second Friday in July. That way, the day would always fall on a Fry-day (get it?). National Day Calendar founder Marlo Anderson agreed. "I, in good conscience, cannot ignore the voice of the people, who simply want to 'fry-ght' a wrong that's been in place for far too long," he said at the time. "National Fry Day, you are and will forevermore be on a Friday."That means this year, National French Fry Day falls on Friday, July 14. But not all French fry purveyors have bought into the change. Some, including McDonald's and Smashburger, ...
